NSS wins the Red Cross award for the third time !!!



NSS, BITS-Pilani chapter bagged the Red Cross Award for third time, on world blood donor day (14th June ) by the Indian Red Cross Society for highest unit of blood collection from any educational institution. This also accounts for setting a record of sorts for the country’s highest-ever blood collection by an educational institution. This award winning camp was organized at Student activity centre on 30-31st January, 2010 in the vigil of Vikas Gurwani, then president, NSS and Alok Soni, then health coordinator. The total turn up was more than 1030 and the number of units collected was 841. The award was presented to Dr. Vimal Bhanot, Manish Gurwani and Nitish Kumar Singh by Mr. Gulam Nabi Azad, honourable health minister, government of India.
