HEALTH CAMP

NSS BITS Pilani organised a health camp on 7^th March, 2010 in a nearby village Garinda which is approximately 12 kms from Pilani. The camp was conducted in the government upper primary school with the assistance of Dr R. P. Pareek (physician), Dr Sanjana Bhatt (gynaecologist) and the Pharmacy Group of BITS Pilani. More than 160 people availed free medical check-up and medicines. Few patients with complicated problems had their names listed in the record book and were advised to visit the Medical centre of BITS Pilani for better consultation and treatment.

CLOTH COLLECION PROGRAMME - VASTRA SAMMAN.

NSS in collaboration with an international NGO Goonj, organised a cloth collection programme -"Vastra Samman" to extend a helping hand to the underprivileged ones so that they too can live with dignity. With the belief that our discard can be an asset to some, an intensive door-to-door campaign was held from 9th-11th April, 2010 under which students and faculty members of BITS were approached by NSS volunteers. Over 1500 Bitsians became a part of it by donating their old clothes and shoes. This programme was a huge success and it took both NSS BITS Pilani and Goonj to new heights.
